Good News

Aha! Good news came through early this morning. Dr Frearson left a message on my cell informing that our nuchal fold results came in and it's great news. Baby has 1 in 10,000 (9,999 to be exact) chance of down syndrome and with that figure, she'd bet on anything that baby would turn out lovely and healthy. We've only the blood test to wait for then we're all set!

We dropped Koda off at the vet in the morning with Dr Stirling for her de-sex surgery and installing microchip. Picked her up again at 4pm looking very alert and very hungry! Not so much luck on her end though. Gingivitis has only improved slightly and she might have to be on t/d for the rest of her life (geez, talk about expensive breed! those costs a fortune!).

Besides myself and hubby, I do feel a sense of responsibility for Koda's health and wellbeing. As papa mentioned not too long ago, pets are life-long 'investment' and requires life-longe maintainence. Since by average she lives almost half our average life span, she is a part of our family and I tend to keep it that way. Where we move, she moves. If she's sick, there's the vet. She'll be treated with love, care and respect like any living being in the household and soon dear baby, you will learn to show them to her too.
