Me this week..

..in a nutshell.

Pregnant? Naaah, I’m just big boned!
by The Sarcastic Journalist

It always seemed like my pregnancy weight snuck up on me. One minute, I’m sitting there, wondering if I’ll ever start to show and the next I’m on the phone, screaming “13 pounds? How the heck did I gain 13 pounds?”

Pregnancy, for me, means a constant struggle between wanting to pig out and wanting to keep my weight gain to a minimum. The way I look at it is when else are you going to get the “green light” to eat?

It just happened that my green light headed me straight towards the local bakery. Well, the local bakery, the Taco Bell and the ice cream shop.

We all know calcium is very important for pregnant women.

We’ve all heard the stories of women who gained 100 pounds during their pregnancies after eating only cheese for nine months. (Really, what’s wrong with cheese? I happen to like cheese very much.)

“That won’t happen to me!” you say, while munching on a bag of Fritos. “I will keep it under control... only healthy weight gain for me!”

And then, you get hormonal. Since you are pregnant, drinking, smoking and riding roller coasters are out of the question. So, you eat. The bon bons. Macaroni and cheese. Taco Bell. Hamburgers. Oreos.

One month later, when you step on the scale to find out just how much you’ve gained, you almost faint. I have a feeling that most pregnant women, when they see the large number for the first time, actually hope there’s more than one in there.

Daddy and I went out and I think I might've walked a little too fast/much than I'm used to so now it's muscle pain in the legs. I woke up 5am this morning with a thumping headache. But the great news and a celebration at end of the day today just made up to every worry and anxiety I had the past few months since the existence of you. We went out for dinner and celebrated Daddy's belated bday, our closing deal to a great great news, your progress and the end of my first trimester!

This week is the week we've been waiting for quite some time now. They said second trimester is the best time of pregnancy. I still don't quite look all bulging front but I can see it's coming pretty soon! Backaches have subsided and I don't feel uncomfortable anymore. Nausea only sets in when I let myself get really hungry or tired or too excited or too full! Funny, eh? I don't experience gum bleeds anymore. I get sudden headaches occasionally. Tired sometimes and not so windy anymore. Still constipating though. And blocked nose.

That blocked nose will be your best friend for another 6 months. The headache will be there especially worst when you advance. I think being anemic, must make sure dont be in vertical position for a long time and dont get up too fast from sitting down position.

Do you sometimes feel like the entire room just spin around?

Watch up from the crammed legs, usually when you stretched out your legs in the wee hours of the morning. ouch! ouch! ouch!

Wow congrats you made it to the 2nd Trimester. More great things to come.

Heard Mama, Papa and the bros are going over there in November?
