I remember the test said wait 3-8 minutes for the result but my kit showed results immediately. The next thing I did was read the instruction again. Twice. Three times. Then stared at the mirror. And brought the kit to Daddy. He said, "so? pregnant?" I nodded. Then I went back to the bathroom and stared at the mirror again. Gazed at the unopened mini tampon I just bought preparing for this month's period. That still remains unopened on the bathroom counter. The Nurofen for period pain laying in the fridge, unopened. So that was it then.
Sat back next to Daddy, he kissed me and he said next thing to do is make a doctor's appointment. I went online and googled "pregnancy". That's when I cried a little and said I want this. Now there is absolutely no doubt. Daddy said make an appointment on Tuesday coz he has an important meeting on Monday. I said it's okay I can go by myself and he insists he comes with me.

11.30am was the appointment. We left the house at 10.30am. I was so nervous Daddy said we'll go for breakfast first. Found a cafe nearby the Franklin Street General Practice where my appointment's at. Just be on the safe side, Daddy ordered us both hot chocolate. That was when he took this pic with his phone. We talked and talked and talked. About possibilities, what to do, plans, etc etc for maybe half an hour then head down to our appointment. Dr Meredith Frearson took samples from my urine, check sugar level and asked questions. After she confirms I'm positive and calculates how far along I am, the rest of her questions was entirely a blur. Luckily Daddy remembers everything and answers most of them.

Yes, Mommy's not very keen on pills. She doesn't quite like having to swallow something and still is convinced her throat is smaller than everyone else on planet earth so she has to chew before swallowing. Now that she has to take Elevit everyday for both Mommy and your sake, she finds ways to psych herself up enough getting one pill down into her system. Daddy loves watching and making fun of me when it's pill time and these pix were taken few days ago when we had lunch at Kurralta Park. It's a drama everyday we go through =)
Mommy feels...
Yesterday I woke up worrying about my tender gums. It's been bleeding every time I brush my teeth for a while now. So she went on the net and google-ed it. Yes, it's very common so Daddy suggests we go to Coles and get soft bristles toothbrush and Listerine (cos I've bloody/metallic taste in my mouth).
You should also know the henna I put on my hands and feet for our wedding day has only 3/4 gone. Yes, I'm still with partially red-pink nails and toes. And today is our third month wedding anniversary (psst.. and Daddy forgot for the first time! Yes!! time to get back at him) Not that we do anything special on our monthly anniversaries. Just good to know and see who forgets =) We'll probably celebrate our first wedding anniversary with you!
Today you're 6 weeks old.
Mommy's expecting morning sickness to sink in this week. Hopefully I'll be able to handle it. Also, a blood test on Monday and she needs to fast 12 hours prior on doctor's advice since I'm iron deficient. Besides that, Mommy's healthy, happy, enjoying reading pregnancy information, eats well and plans to make her own soy milk tonight. I hope you enjoyed Mommy's scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with avocado, capers, snow peas sprout and cream cheese sandwich for lunch yesterday. Daddy had 2 helpings. Mommy loves smoked salmon and Daddy and I bothlove herbs and eat our greens. There's absolutely no harm eating veges so we don't understand why it should be such a fuss not to eat them. Mommy grows her own herb pots of parsley, coriander, dill, sage, rosemary, thyme and oregano. It's still not the season for basil yet but soon she'll have a pot of basil. You on the other hand, will enjoy a variety homemade, healthy food, I expect. Daddy's very keen in knowing how to cook certain meals himself. We both enjoy cooking and we ensure you and I both get enough vege and fruits daily.6 Weeks Pregnant
You are now six weeks pregnant.
How your baby's growing
By the end of the week, your baby is about the size of a small bean. If you could see inside yourself, you'd find a large head and dark spots where the eyes and nostrils are beginning to form. The emerging ears are marked and the arms and legs look like protruding buds. The hands and feet are shaped like paddles, and fingers are beginning to form even now. The heart has divided into the right and left chambers and is beating about 150 times a minute -- roughly twice the rate of an adult heart.
How your life's changing
The outside world won't see any sign of the dramatic developments taking place inside you but tiredness and nausea can make you feel low, especially as you may not have told anyone at work that you're pregnant yet. To compensate, offload as much as you can at home and involve your partner in your pregnancy at the same time. Try to prioritise rest and see your GP if sickness is making your life miserable or if you really can't keep anything down. Distraction can help -- have a think about the sort of antenatal care and birth you'd like, you do have some choice in the matter -- find out more.
You may have thought that disturbed nights start when the baby has arrived, but many women find their sleep is disrupted right from the start of pregnancy. Sometimes the cause is physical -- your growing uterus puts pressure on your bladder necessitating trips to the loo in the wee small hours. Or perhaps sore boobs mean that you can't get comfortable or you wake up in need of a midnight feast. Follow our basics of good sleep to help you get a decent night's rest. And how's mom doing? It’s official (grumble): if you’re going to have morning sickness, you’ll be feeling the unpleasant symptoms starting some time this week. If you don’t, then chances are you’re in the clear-- but don’t blame us if we’re wrong! There are always a handful of women who are officially morning-sickness late-bloomers with another week or two before the nausea sets in. There are several factors that can help you determine whether or not you you’re one of the unlucky ones. If you are having twins (or more), or had morning sickness with an earlier pregnancy, or experienced nausea or vomiting with birth control pills, then you might expect to have morning sickness with this pregnancy. To lessen your symptoms, you’re going to have to buckle down and focus on cleaning up your diet. Don’t eat fatty foods, drink lots of fluids, eat several small meals throughout the day, take plenty of naps, and don’t forget the prenatal vitamins! (Have you consulted with your doctor of nutritionist yet?) For those of you without morning sickness: don’t dwell on it,you're just one of the lucky 20% of pregnant women who never actually experience morning sickness.
Fetal development in pregnancy week 6:embryo in second month This is going to be a busy week for your amazing little embryo. Their brain is still growing remarkably fast; miniature hand plates are starting to develop and the early formations of what will be their fingers are already visible. Also, the lower limbs do not develop quite as fast, so they’re pretty much still flippers. Up until this point, your baby has been very curled up with the head and tail in close proximity, but this week their trunk and neck are beginning to grow and straighten as their tail recedes into its resting position in the back. Even though your little miracle is only 6 weeks old, they’re already capable of demonstrating reflex responses to touch!

That's it so far. Mommy will update any changes through this week =)

I am impressed that you actually have your mini garden of herbs. Wow! Never thought that you like to cook. I know you love baking but didnt know that you like cooking.
I suppose when you are on your own, you are able to experience on things that you could have never had the chance before.
Good luck with your pills and the bleeding gum, cannot be helped...
I just got back from rumah Mak Itam for Azim's menyambut menantu. Very tired...But happy for Mak Itam.
Take care and dont be a hero of weight lifting anymore.
I suppose so. Being away from home certainly brought out that unknown side of me =) Especially when I crave those nasi lemak, char kuey teow, mee mamak and nasi ayam! The restaurants here? I'd rather make my own than pay for them. Absolutely not worth it. I enjoy cooking and love baking. It just bloomed further now that the weather's dry and cool here (unlike Msia.. hate staying in the kitchen in Msia!) and no one to breathe down my neck whenever I cut onions or even cook rice! Also the critiques here are limited to housemates and hungry students. Anything home cooked (and free!) tastes good to them =) Now that Khairul enjoys cooking, we often cook something special on weekends. My cooking skills are entirely dependant on his tastebuds. Nothing like Mama's curry and rendang. (yummmm..!)
Oh Abg Hazim's married! Congrat to him. And about the rice, I was just lifting it to store some in our container. It was a bad idea, huh =P
